About Event
The scientific lectures and the attendance of specialized visitors were what distinguished the second Shoulder Surgery Conference.
For his part, Dr. Youssef Ishtiwi, Head of the Orthopedic Department at Tripoli Medical Center and Consultant Orthopedic and Joint Surgeon, said, “I was invited to the second Shoulder Surgery Conference. We had previously attended the first Shoulder Surgery Conference last year, and this second conference will be held at the same time and at the same location at the Benghazi Medical Center.”
Dr. Ishtiwi added, “To be honest, the conference was very successful in terms of valuable medical information, as everyone benefited from it. The spirit of cooperation between everyone was evident in presenting scientific medical information. It is a forum where opinions, ideas, and the latest scientific findings in shoulder surgery are exchanged.”
Dr. Ashtiwi added, “Live surgeries were also performed and broadcast live to attendees via cameras from inside the operating rooms. I am very pleased with this conference in its second edition. Everything related to shoulder surgery is renewed annually, so we need an annual meeting to benefit everyone.
Among the most important successes of the conference was the chairmanship of Dr. Mustafa Al-Fadli and a number of visitors, including Dr. Maher Al-Assal, Head of the Orthopedic Department at Assiut Hospital, and Dr. Mustafa Al-Sharif, a shoulder surgery consultant from Canada. The conference was enhanced with high-level scientific lectures. I wish everyone success, and God willing, we will meet again next year for the third conference.”
In the same context, visiting physician from Turkey, Professor Dr. Mustafa Ozkan, said, “I work as Head of the Orthopedic Department at Izmir University in Turkey, and this is my first visit to Benghazi to attend the second conference on shoulder joint surgery at the Benghazi Medical Center.” The Turkish professor explained, “During the conference, I gave several lectures and performed surgery on a patient who had been suffering from an injury for four years (which led to joint stiffness, friction, and tendon tears). This was part of the workshop held at the conference. A reverse shoulder replacement surgery was performed, and, thank God, the case was successful.”
Dr. Ozkan continued, “Regarding my first visit to Benghazi and the Benghazi Medical Center, I was amazed by this great and magnificent medical facility. I am very happy with the preparations for the conference and the preparations for the case, as I observed the speed and precision with which the nursing staff performed the medical examinations in the best possible way. The medical and paramedical staff at the medical center work like a beehive, paying attention to every minute detail of the patient’s life.” Dr. Ozkan said, “I was very honored by this visit with my fellow doctors, and I wish the doctors at the Benghazi Medical Center continued success in the academic field.”
