About Event

With the active participation of orthopedic surgeons from Libyan hospitals The Department of Orthopedics and Joint Surgery organizes a scientific day on cruciate ligament (ACL) repair of the knee joint This Thursday morning, the Department of Orthopedics and Joint Surgery at the University Hospital organized a scientific day on cruciate ligament (ACL) repair of the knee joint. The day was sponsored by the Libyan Society of Arthroscopy and Joint Surgery and supervised by the Scientific Council of Orthopedics of the Medical Specialties Council. A select group of orthopedic surgeons from hospitals in Tripoli and surrounding areas participated in the day. The day featured several scientific lectures presented by participating physicians on injuries and cruciate ligament (ACL) repair surgery, using safe methods and the latest techniques based on evidence-based medicine. These methods help patients move normally after recovery. The scientific day was marked by a serious and active discussion among the attending physicians, who emphasized the importance of holding scientific days due to the benefits they bring to participants. Dr. Saleh Abu Mahara, Head of the Orthopedic and Joint Surgery Department at the hospital, confirmed that the scientific day is part of the department’s continuing medical education activities. This aims to create a generation of doctors who can be relied upon in orthopedic and joint surgery to raise the standard of medical services. Colleagues from the profession participated in a scientific session devoted to the safe method of cruciate ligament transplantation in athletes. The session reviewed successful cases of cruciate ligament transplantation, allowing for the sharing of expertise. He also emphasized the continued holding of scientific days in orthopedic and joint surgery, particularly cruciate ligament transplantation and sports injuries, given the importance of treating these conditions at the university hospital, which is a center of expertise in this delicate specialty.
