About Event
Dear Colleagues,
Within the scientific and professional mission of the Libyan Association of Arthroplasty and Arthroscopic Surgery, and in line with its commitment to supporting and advancing the training of orthopedic surgeons, we are pleased to announce that 17 January 2026 will be designated as the Scientific Day of Knee Arthroplasty.
We are honored to welcome Professor Parvizi, one of the world’s leading authorities in orthopedic and joint surgery, as a distinguished guest of this scientific day.
He will deliver specialized scientific and practical lectures focusing on Periprosthetic Joint Infection (PJI), one of the most serious and challenging complications associated with joint replacement surgery.
In addition, he will address common mechanical complications related to knee arthroplasty, discussing challenges encountered intraoperatively as well as in the early and late postoperative periods, with an emphasis on contemporary concepts and internationally accepted standards of care.
The scientific program will also include dedicated lectures in clinical microbiology, aiming to establish a collaborative and integrated approach between orthopedic surgery and microbiology. This initiative seeks to enhance understanding of this critical relationship and translate it into practical, evidence-based strategies applicable at the national level, with a particular focus on rational antibiotic stewardship, reducing overuse, and improving patient safety and treatment outcomes.
We hope that this scientific meeting will serve as a successful platform for dialogue and exchange of expertise, and that it will result in practical recommendations that directly contribute to the advancement of healthcare services in terms of infrastructure, safety, and professional training in the field of knee arthroplasty.
With kind regards and sincere appreciation.
Dr. Saleh Abumahara
President of Libyan society of Arthroplasty and Arthroscopic Surgery
